Biography

Bernard DiFiore is President and Chief Executive Officer of BenefitMall, the largest general agency in the United States.

As CEO, DiFiore has guided the company from his 1998 vision to nationally expand through various technology innovations to a 2007 industry leader with over 100,000 in-force groups, supporting two million employees and their dependents. DiFiore brings more than 25 years of experience in successful start-ups in the financial-services and benefits industries, which aided in the companies’ recent management led buy-out partnering with Allied Capital.

Rising from an entrepreneurial background, DiFiore has founded and sold multiple companies. Successfully mastering city management early in his career, DiFiore attained the foundation that supported his achievements as the founder and president of Coordinated Benefits Systems, Inc., a large technology-driven employee-benefits company, which he sold to Employee Benefits Plans, Inc., in 1989. With a desire to share his successes with others, DiFiore accepted a position as President of a charitable foundation. It was during his financial management of the foundation that DiFiore conceptually designed his next business venture, The Aquinas Funds. The Aquinas Funds grew to be a national financial-services company and publicly traded mutual fund with $160 million in managed assets.

DiFiore's leadership was recognized when he was named to Governor George W. Bush's National IT Steering Committee and to A.M. Best's Review's list of "People to Watch in 2001." He was also a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Southwest Region in 2001 and 2002. DiFiore is a leading expert and public speaker on e-commerce trends and opportunities for the insurance and employee-benefits industries, and he has been recognized by Computer World, Tech Titans and Microsoft.

DiFiore holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati and a master’s degree from Syracuse University. He resides in Dallas, Texas with his wife, Anne, and their two children.

As an active community leader, DiFiore strives to give back to his community while participating in the future of the industry he represents. He currently serves on several Carrier Advisory Councils and the Richardson Regional Hospital Board. DiFiore has also served on multiple charitable foundation boards, and he and his wife continue to support many local and national charities.
