Michelle Sheffield joined BenefitMall in March 2009 as the Chief Information Officer. In her capacity as CIO, she is responsible for the company’s Information Technology environment and strategy, including the selection, development, deployment and maintenance of all technology related solutions supporting both internal and external customers. Sheffield has over 20 years of information technology experience with expertise in strategic planning, process improvement, project delivery, application development, systems integration, infrastructure consolidation, and vendor management.
Prior to joining BenefitMall, Sheffield was Vice President of Information Technology for Torchmark Corporation. During her tenure there, she had enterprise responsibility for IT systems and infrastructure supporting all Torchmark subsidiaries specializing in life and supplemental health insurance. Sheffield also served as Vice President of Information Technology for American Messaging Services and Director of Information Technology for Verizon Wireless where she successfully led multiple key initiatives, including the development of web-based customer service applications and the consolidation of systems and infrastructure.
Sheffield has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Science and Computer Systems from Oklahoma State University and a Master's Degree in Business Administration from SMU Cox School of Business. She is a member of the SMU Cox Associate Board and the Dallas Regional Chamber Executive Women's Roundtable. She serves as a CIO host for the Dallas Technology Ball supporting STEM education and she volunteers for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program. Sheffield previously served on a Finance Committee for a non-profit organization and was Vice President of a School Advisory Board.
